The Head Behind MyGoTo Brands
Teresa Bembury, MyGoTo Brands CEO, is a native New Yorker whose appreciation for fashion started at High School age of 16, when she worked part-time for two years as a shoe salesperson in NYC. When there, seeing the process of a customer's decision-making was fun & enlightening for her.
After graduating from NYC Technical College, where she studied Art & Advertising Design, Teresa landed a self-employed account as an Ad Designer for the Claro shoe store chain. Claro Shoes had multiple Midtown locations. They catered to high fashion models, celebrities, and sports figures with large-size feet. Teresa's Ad designs were featured regularly in mainstream media; NYTimes, Daily News, Post & Newsday. That 5-year time in her life became the period where her appreciation for high-quality shoes & accessories became part of her natural being.
After Claro Shoes, Teresa worked for Time-Warner - BOMC, who had seven years later entered into a merger alliance with Bertelsmann Music Group, Double Day & Columbia House. The merger created one of the largest direct-to-consumer distributors of media products in the U.S. Totalling 13 years, Teresa held progressive responsibilities as a Studio Design Manager, Art Director & Senior Art Director. Intending to build the lifestyle brand through club memberships, her role involved concept development & design of direct-to-consumer catalogs and promotions in collaboration with graphic designers, copywriters, editors, photographers, and the marketing team.
Today, Teresa has taken her business acumen along with a love for fashion, and advertising design to build MyGoTo Brands..
